Aggreko salespeople are proactive problem solvers
Our sales teams play a pivotal role as the primary point of contact for our customers. They make sure our communication is seamless and our service is exception, every step of the way. Whether you are diving into short-term contracts or navigating through more complex long-term projects, we’ll equip you with the training and support to help customers tackle their challenges with confidence and speed.
In Africa we have two groups of salespeople. Each has their own development pathway, but you can move across from one to the other.
1. Sector sales – these salespeople are focused on one of our industry sectors. This allows you to build a deep understanding of that industry, our value propositions and have confidence when talking to customers about their challenges. Our primary sectors in Africa are mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, and data centres.
2. Geographical sales – these salespeople are based all over Africa and get to work across every sector. You’ll spend more of your time supporting customers across the continent and develop experience across a broad range of industries.
Reasons to consider joining Aggreko as a salesperson
-
You’ll be selling solutions, rather than renting products, so your sales approach starts with understanding a customer’s needs and pain points. You’ll then design a solution that solves those problems.
-
You’ll get to work on some incredibly complex projects that are larger and more challenging than many of our competitors can deliver. You’ll get to learn and develop every day.
-
Our customers expect us to be dynamic. From a sales perspective, that means you’ll need to work fast and manage lots of activities at the same time. But it also means you’ll get to see projects through from start to finish and quickly see the impact of your work.
-
Our rewards match Aggreko’s high expectations. The sales incentive schemes recognise sales performance. You’ll also be rewarded for your sales activity, sales improvements, and making the best use of our cleanest, most energy-efficient equipment.
-
You’ll get excellent sector and product training. Aggreko values expertise, and so do our customers, so you’ll have all the skills and knowledge needed to design the right solutions to customers’ problems.
-
You are never on your own at Aggreko. Technical support teams help you specify exactly the right solution for a customer, and a project delivery team help execute plans down to the very last detail. And further afield, you’ll have a whole world of sales colleagues with similar sector expertise who can share their experience with you.
-
Some people struggle to see how an industry like ours can play a meaningful part in the shift towards decarbonisation. We believe that by designing cleaner and more efficient solutions, we can make a far larger contribution toward net zero than is possible in other industries.
You’ll ideally bring some technical and sales experience:
- We’re a unique business, so it’s rare that someone joins our sales team with the ‘perfect’ set of experiences.
- We look for a blend of technical understanding and some sales experience, and people who enjoy working at pace.
- Your technical expertise may come from an electrical engineering environment. Or you may simply feel confident with technical challenges at home.
- You may have a proven track record in sales from another rental company, perhaps one that provides premium hire solutions. Or you may have more of a general background in sales.
- Whatever your background, we offer continuous development. We have a dedicated sales training team and sales mentors who can help you with account planning and sales skills. And we have a separate technical training team to help you quickly feel knowledgeable about our products and how to package them up to meet customers’ needs.
Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply for a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our roles, we encourage you to apply. You might be just the person we’re looking for. Bring your energy. Grow your career.
