Join us as an apprentice at one of our depots in England, and you’ll be kick-starting your career as a technician. You’ll work with global experts, both onsite, at client sites and on projects in the UK and around the world. All while developing your skills, delivering for our customers and getting qualified at the same time.
How long is it? Three years.
How does it work? You’ll typically spend three or four days a week onsite and the other one or two days in college.
What will I be working towards? With the mix of practical work alongside training and studying, you’ll earn an NVQ level 3 qualification.
What qualifications do I need to apply? You’ll need to have (or be predicted to achieve) functional skills at Level 2 or GCSEs in English, Maths and a STEM-related subject (grades 4-9).

Apprenticeships in Scotland

Location: Dumbarton
Join us as a modern apprentice at our Lomondgate campus in Dumbarton, and you’ll kick-start your career as a technician. You’ll work with global experts, both onsite and around the world, developing your own skills, delivering for our customers and getting qualified at the same time. So many of our current colleagues started their careers as apprentices in Lomondgate and now have global careers.
How long is it? Four years.
How does it work? You’ll typically spend four days a week onsite and one day at Glasgow City College.
What will I be working towards? With the mix of practical work, training, and studying, you’ll have achieved at least a HND in Systems Engineering and SVQ level 3 Engineering Operations.
What qualifications do I need to apply? You’ll need a minimum of four National 5s, including English, Maths, and ideally, Physics or another STEM subject.

Location: Dumbarton
Join us as a graduate apprentice and kick-start your career as an engineer while getting your degree. You’ll primarily be based at our Lomondgate campus in Dumbarton but have all the advantages of working for a global business, with current apprentices having worked on events such as the Women’s FIFA World Cup in Australia, The Ryder Cup in Italy and more.
How long is it? Four years.
How does it work? You’ll typically spend four days a week onsite and one day in college.
What will I be working towards? With the mix of practical work, training and studying, you’ll have achieved at least an SVQ Level 4 and a degree in electrical/mechanical engineering.
What qualifications do I need to apply? You’ll need a minimum of four Highers, including English, Maths, and ideally, Physics or another STEM subject.

Location: Dumbarton
Join us as a procurement apprentice at our Lomondgate Campus in Dumbarton and kick-start your career in supply chain and procurement. Over the four years, you’ll rotate between different teams, getting experience at both a local and global level – and there’ll be opportunities to travel too! You’ll be supported throughout by our Apprentices manager and your colleagues in the teams you’re working in.
How long is it? Four years.
How does it work? Your first year is full-time at Aggreko, with time set aside to help you complete your study modules. From the second year, there’ll be a mixture of days with Aggreko and days where you’ll be in college.
What will I be working towards? After your apprenticeship, you’ll have achieved at least a Level 4 Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) award.
What qualifications do I need to apply? You’ll need a minimum of four Highers, including English, Maths, and ideally another STEM subject.

Locations: Glasgow city centre
As an IT apprentice, you’ll get stuck in with our IT teams from day one. You’ll work in, and build your experience in, various areas of IT, from IT support to software development and cyber security. You’ll help to make sure our systems and equipment work smoothly to deliver for our colleagues and customers.
How long is it? Three years.
How does it work? Hybrid working is the norm for our IT teams so you’ll be onsite and at home, with time set aside to help you complete your study modules. In your first year, you’ll experience various IT functions, with an international project in your second year before choosing where to specialise in your third year.
What will I be working towards? After your apprenticeship, you’ll have achieved at least an SCQF Level 8.
What qualifications do I need to apply? You’ll need a minimum of four National 5s, including English and Maths.
